First released in 1989 at the tail-end of verts dominance, the graphic is inspired by a book of Polynesian art and was drawn by Sean Cliver. Nicky Guerrero is from Denmark and joined the Powell Peralta team the same year the deck was released. Nicky spent a lot of time on European tours, skating many demos with the Powell Peralta team including the likes of Mike McGill, Steve Caballero and Ray Barbee.
